On October 15, representatives from Mount Popa Aspiring UGGp in Myanmar came to Shilin UGGp for an exchange and cooperation visit. Both geoparks officially signed sister park agreement and formed a friendly cooperation relationship.
The staff member of Mount Popa Aspiring UGGp visited Shilin Visitor Center, the Major Stone Forest Scenic Area, the Minor Stone Forest Scenic Area, Bushao Hill Scenic Area, the Naigu Stone Forest Scenic Area respectively, and knew more about the practice and operation of geopark building, popular science education and sustainable development.
Both geoparks held an exchange during the visit and made an in-depth discussion on the development of geoparks, geoheritage protection, science popularization, networking and revalidation work, achieving a consensus on interactive communication and further cooperation.
Both sides will work together to promote the scientific management and sustainable development of UGGps by exchanging and sharing experience in the areas of protection and management, planning and development, geological research, and science popularization, etc.
