On October 3, 2016 six representatives of Shilin Global Geopark made an visit to Burren and Cliff of Moher Global Geopark of County Clare of Ireland for exchange and cooperation after attending the 7th International Conference on UNESCO Global Geoparks held in England.

Representatives of Shilin Global Geopark visited the Burren and Cliff of Moher Global Geopark, the Visitor Center, the Geopark Museum, etc. Such visit strengthened the cooperation and exchange between the two geoparks. UNESCO Global Geopark serves as a bridge deepening understanding and friendship  between China and Ireland.

On May 20, 2015, Shilin Global Geopark of Yunnan Province and Burren and Cliff of Moher Global Geopark of County Clare of Ireland signed friendship geopark agreement in Kunming. After the signing ceremony, staff members of Burren and Cliff of Moher Global Geopark visited the Shilin Geopark.
