The 7th International Conference on UNESCO Global Geopark was held in English Riviera UNESCO Global Geopark on Sep 26 to 30. 770 delegates from 120 UNESCO Global Geopark around the world attended this conference, among them 155 delegates were   from the 33 Global Geoparks in China. During this conference, sessions on geopark construction and management, GGN Executive Committee Meeting, the 1st GGN General Assembly, and Geofairs were held. 

The delegation of six members from Shilin UNESCO Global Geopark, led by Mr. Yu Chun, vice county governor of Shilin,   attended the Conference and Geofairs. Pictures and posters on the natural beauty, Yi culture, geological heritages, geological  evolution of Shilin Geopark received wider concerns. About  300 DVD on geoscience of Shilin Geopark,  260 tourism brochures, 300 geoscience books were distributed during the geofair. 

Nicklos Zouros, president of GGN, and Dr. Zheng Yuan, director of GGN Beijing Office were visiting Geofair of Shilin Shilin delegates attended all the meetings and sessions, had active exchanges and communications with other geoparks and delegates in the fields of geo heritage conservation, geotourism, marketing, community involvement, scientific research and science popularization, and reached consensus.

Shilin delegates attended field trip and theme activities，made a presentation on the Scientific Research and Science Popularization of Shilin UNESCO Global Geopark, attracting many audiences  and getting praise and recognition. 

At this conference, GGN announced the lists of geoparks that had passed the periodical revalidation carried out this summer, Shilin was on the list. Shilin had fulfilled the tasks of the Conference.

Shilin delegates visited Burren and Cliffs of Moher UNESCO Global Geopark in Ireland after the Conference, and two parks had exchanges and communications in the fields of geopark protection and management, since the two parks had established friendly-park relationship in May 20, 2015.
