Grand and alluring folk songs and dances performance of local Yi ethnic minority was staged to welcome tourists home and abroad at Shilinxi Railway Station to let them feel the strong and joyful atmosphere of Chinese New Year, and let visitor experience the charm of the shilin’s culture.

With a history spanning over 1000 years, Dasanxian is a beautiful and lyrical combination of Yi ethnic minority’s folk song and dance. It was listed among China’s national intangible heritage items.

At the end of 2016, Yunnan Province entered the era of high-speed railway, which completely changed Yunnaners’ ideology that “the train is not as fast as the car”, and let the people of Yunnan witness the convenient and comfortable experience brought by high-speed trains .

Shilin has agreeable climate, fabulous natural landscape; it is a dream destination for many visitors. The completion of high-speed railway shortens travel time and makes Shilin more popular among visitors home and abroad.

Sani people, a branch of Yi ethnic group, is a singing and dancing people. During the Spring Festival Holiday in 2017, cultural performance teams from the nearby villages showed the most authentic and original songs and dances to every traveler on the square of Shilinxi Railway Station. All the dance groups consisted of seniors, and the stage provided a space for the elderly to show their talents. They have overcome various challenges improving themselves through daily training. Eventually when they are on stage, they display confidence and elegance.

Their beautiful traditional costumes and unique dancing postures let the Chinese and foreign tourists feel the hospitality and warmth of the Yi ethnic groups in Shilin County.
