On August 1, seven staff members from Alxa Desert UNESCO Global Geopark, north China’s Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region, came to Shilin UGGp to make an exchange visit.

After visiting the Tourist Center, the Major Stone Forest Scenic Area, the Minor Stone Forest Scenic Area, Bushao Hill Scenic Area, the Naigu Stone Forest Scenic Area respectively, staff members of the Arxan Global Geopark got some knowledge about the long and complex geological evolution of Shilin UGGp from the Permian to the present and knew more about the practice and operation of geopark building, popular science education and sustainable development.

Both geoparks held an exchange during the visit and made an in-depth discussion on the development of geoparks, geoheritage protection, science popularization, networking and revalidation work, achieving a consensus on interactive communication and further cooperation.
