The 5th APGN Symposium was held in Zhijin County, Guizhou Province on September 19-22. With the theme of “UNESCO Global Geoparks Promote the Sustainable Development of Local Economy”, the conference was attended by more than 900 representatives from 27 countries. Representatives of UNESCO, GGN, UNESCO Global Geoparks Council and APGN attended the conference. Shilin UNESCO Global Geopark attended the conference.

The conference was comprised of academic presentations, geopark fair, and field excursions. The representative of Shilin made presentation themed “Cultural Tourism of Shilin Global Geoparks”, achieving wide attention and affirmation. Shilin delegation and other global geoparks held in-depth exchanges and shared experiences and practices.
