The 2nd National Science Popularization Interpretation Contest, guided by Department of International Cooperation & Science and Technology, The Ministry of Land and Resources (MLR) and the Geological Museum of China, organized by the General Office of Science Popularization, The Ministry of Land and Resources (MLR), and Department of Land and Resources of Anhui Province, hosted by the Geological Museum of Anhui Province, was held in Hefei City, Anhui Province on Nov 27, 2017. In total 34 candidates from 19 cities entered the contest after qualification trails. Wang Chunxia, the only candidate of Yunnan Province,from Shilin UNESCO Global Geopark, won the second prize.

The aim of the contest is to promote scientific knowledge on land and resources, scientific spirit, scientific methods, to boost science popularization, to provide a platform for science popularization interpreters and volunteers. Shilin UNESCO Global Geopark will continuously enhance the capacity of tour guides to ensure that the visitors can enjoy natural beauty and know some geological science at the same time.
