The regulations of Shilin Scenic and Historic Area came into force as of July 1st 2008 for the purpose of strengthening administration of Shilin Scenic and Historic Areas and effectively protecting and rationally utilizing scenic and historic resources.

There are 6 chapters in the regulations: general provisions, planning, protection and conservation, management, legal liabilities and supplementary provisions, which play a significant role in protection the scenic and historic resources.
