The 4th China-South Asia Exposition and the 24th China-Kunming Import and Export Commodities Fair, co-organized by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and Yunnan provincial government, had an opening ceremony in the morning of June 12 in Kunming. The exposition, themed "accelerating cooperation and development between China and South Asia and Southeast Asia", established a platform for China and South/Southeast Asian countries to enhance their cultural and economic ties. Currently 89 countries and regions attened the Fair.

The delegation of 6 people, including James Breen, Mayor of Clare County Council of Ireland, left Kunming for Shilin Geopark after the opening ceremony of the exposition.

Barren and Cliffs of Moher geopark in Clare County, Ireland and Shilin geopark, both UNESCO Global Geopark, signed sister relationship agreement on May 25, 2015, establishing thousands of miles faraway friendship. The delegation’s visit in Shilin will help enhance the friendship between Yunnan Province and Clare County, deepen exchanges and cooperation in both geoparks.
